The Strategic Alignment Maturity Model: Components and Levels of SAMM

The strategic alignment maturity Model is a framework or model that assesses the level of alignment between an organization’s business strategy and its information technology (IT) strategy.

SAMM combines six different organizational components (communication, value measurement, governance, partnership, technology scope, and skills) into a strategic alignment maturity score.

Noise in Communication -Meaning and Types

Noise is defined as any obstacle, interference or distortion that hinders the transmission of a message from the sender to the receiver.

Essentially, any unwanted signal that disrupts the transmission and reception of information between two or more parties can be considered noise.

The effects of noise on communication can be significant. It can reduce the clarity and effectiveness of the message, leading to misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

In some cases, Noise can even cause complete breakdowns in communication.

Noise can take three forms, namely; physical, psychological or linguistic.

Prewriting stage

The prewriting stage is the initial phase of the writing process, where you brainstorm and gather ideas before you start writing.

In the prewriting stage, the first thing you need to do is to understand your audience. What are their interests, needs, and expectations?

By taking the time to understand your audience, you can tailor your writing to their needs and create a piece that speaks directly to them.

Once you know your audience, you can move on to defining the purpose of your writing.

What is the main message you want to convey? What do you want your audience to learn, think, or feel after reading your piece?
