The length of a piece of stick is 1.75 m. A boy measured it as 1.80 m. Find the percentage error

  • A 4\(\frac{4}{7}\)
  • B 2\(\frac{6}{7}\)
  • C 2\(\frac{7}{9}\)
  • D 4\(\frac{7}{9}\)

The correct answer is B. 2\(\frac{6}{7}\)

Error = 1.80 - 1.75 = 0.05

%error = \(\frac{error}{original length}\)

=  \(\frac{0.05 * 100}{1.75}\)

= 2.85 or  2\(\frac{6}{7}\)
